Hope the owner of the place won't read this :-) and the price won't be changed. Sofa is great value for money. Lunch for 19.90PLN is just amazing. I am there every thursday at 1.00pm, never disappointed so far. Check-it-out here.
Nagymezo utca. A special place where I first met Jerzy. He's a Pole living there with his family. A great guy, open and knows a lot. Buda and Pest. A pearl like no other. A city which competed with Vienna a century ago. You can still feel the atmosphere of great past. Somehow, Budapest is similar to Buenos Aires. Architecture, roads, tall buildings. Go there for a week at least, if you can.
Once I slept in the park near Plaza San Marco. At 5:00am I was woken-up by the men cleaning the park. I had to go. Venice at 5:00am is something special. Empty places. No people no birds, nothing. A cappuccino in a cafe, a look at the people heading for work. Never forget.
Once upon a time... maybe 20 years ago: LOT used to be world-famous for service quality and food on board. This is no longer true. I hate LOT hostesses: they never smile :-( Out of Warsaw, I always choose Lufthansa. Not because of sugar, but because of their reliability and because of Munich airport. Every time I am there, it reminds me of Brian Eno's LP Music for airports.
No idea how in other countries. Sometimes I drive to IKEA just to eat a hot-dog there, one or two. Cost 1 Polish Zloty a piece/ca. 30 eurocents. Good and cheap as chips :-)
One can say that Starbucks sucks. Especially people like Naomi Klein. Ok, but for me Starbucks was the beginning of every day in NYC last autumn. Greenwich village hostel, Starbucks around the corner. Good time. PS. This sugar comes from Starbucks in central Prague/Czech Republic.
Lufthansa: Let Us F..k The Hostesses and Not Say Anything. This company seems to be on another level of service. This is my preferred airline due to one simple thing: when it comes to accuracy and on-time performance, I choose German. As simple as that. But does this work with women? Don't think so.
Sometimes you just want to pay less for the air ticket. Like I did last year: travelled to India with Aeroflot. The price was good, but... The plane from Warsaw to Moscow was late. I got "arrested" on Moscow airport because I didn't have the visa. Together with 15 other people travelling to India, we had to spend 24hours in Novotel just to wait for the next plane to Delhi. We finally got there. The good thing about Aeroflot is that their planes have a lot of space for your feet. Russian. Big. The bad thing is that flight attendants don't speak English. But it works at the end. Travel with Aeroflot.
This sugar comes from Vienna/Austria. The town lies on the crossroads of Western and Eastern Europe. I saw a movie recently which corresponds very well to the climate of the city: multi-culti, strong Austrian traditional mentality, massive buildings and squares. Post-modern collage.
